Hilary works in a magnificent picture palace on England's southern coast in the 1980s. She opens up in the morning, takes care of the guests, and also the popcorn that sometimes gets stuck in the seats after the show. But while the projectors rattle away, casting classic films onto the screen, Hilary is struggling with real life.
